An analytical model describing the in-plane behaviour of timber diaphragms strengthened with plywood panels

چکیده
Abstract Timber diaphragms in existing buildings are often too flexible their plane, and can thus potentially cause out-of-plane collapses of walls during earthquakes. A very efficient retrofitting method to increase in-plane stiffness energy dissipation is the overlay plywood panels. However, usual characterization floors by means a general equivalent shear cannot account for nonlinearity dissipative properties. Therefore, this work, an analytical model formulated describe response timber strengthened with panels screwed along perimeter sheathing. The proposed formulation starts from definition load-slip equation single screw connecting plank panel. whole floor’s then derived, prediction both backbone curve pinching cycles. From comparison between tested full-scale analytically calculated one, it be concluded that accurately predicts behaviour properties retrofitted
